I went to college and graduated in 2007 from the Childhood Studies Program. After I graduated I went immediately into the workforce, just not in that profession. In 2013 my husband saw that I was unhappy with the grind and said we could follow my dreams of opening my own dayhome. We were almost finished when I became pregnant with our beautiful rainbow baby boy Harrison. No worries, I would just open when he was six months! However, when I was five months pregnant, January 7, 2016, I suffered from a stroke due to an AVM in my brain. I could no longer safely operate a day home. I had to reinvent my dreams.
During this period, as I was trying to figure out what to do next, we were enjoying our new baby boy and taking him out and about wherever we could! It was out at these excursions, to restaurants, on planes, at doctors offices, etc., that I started to notice how many children were not engrossed with the world around them, but with the tablets or devices in their laps. We were downtown Disney and kids were using their iPads! We are pro devices, (in the morning my son will watch Blippi while I watch Property Brothers), we just believe in moderation.
Thus, Wandering World was born. A Busy Bag for children that they can take anywhere with them! This reusable bag is filled with simple toys and activities to encourage imaginative play in your child. From sticker books to skipping ropes, finger puppets and play-do - there is sure to be something to entertain your little one (and possibly save your sanity in the process!). Moms! We might finally be able to use the rest room in peace!!
I am currently working with a coach through the Entrepreneurial Group for Disabilities. As well with Covid 19, that unfortunately delayed the launch of our product. No worries, perseverance is our middle name! You can still shop here on our website for the time being, we have quite a bit of stock and ready for delivery within the Fort McMurray area, or shipping outside of it.
Wandering World. Bags of Wonder, for your Little Wanderer.
